Prom 2012 - Lilia & Zack | Middle Tennessee Senior Photographer

Last but not least is Lilia and Zack. Lilia was stunning in her golden dress, and I have to say that Zack's tux may have been my favorite of the night. I'm not usually one for a white tuxedo, but he had this whole John Travolta/Bee Gees thing going.  In a good way! My assistant, Anna Catherine, and I loved it!

If you want Zack's look visit Images on the square in Fayetteville.  Flowers are from The Flower House.

This is the last of prom for this year.  I hope all my couples had as much fun as I did and had a night they will always remember.  Thanks again to everyone who chose me as their prom photographer this year.  I am already looking forward to next year!

Prom 2012 - Ryleigh & Coty | Middle Tennessee Senior Photographer

Prom! I am not joking when I say that as a photographer these are my favorite mini-sessions of the year. I just love seeing the girls and guys dressed to the nines and so excited about the night.  Everyone is all smiles.  I LOVE it!

This year I chose the courtyard of the Lincoln County Museum as the location for mini-sessions.  I watched the weather all day, and was concerned about an hour before the first session was scheduled.  the sky was very dark, but the weather held out.  It ended up being just perfect.

First up were Ryleigh and Coty.

Coty looked smashing.

And Ryleigh?  Well the words Greek Goddess come to mind.

Both Ryleigh's dress and Coty's tuxedo are from Images Dance and Formal Wear.

Over the next week I will be sharing images from each of my sessions so check back soon!

Karsyn at 3 | Middle Tennessee Child Photographer

Miss Karsyn.  Another one of my babies that is growing up too fast! Three short years ago I went to her house a few weeks after she was born for her newborn session.  Now here she is a big girl!

I love this next one.

Then we had an outfit change.  I think this next one is my favorite.  My favorite even though by this point, she was pretty much over the picture-taking.  Some candy was about all that would get this shot for me. ;-)

Sometimes you just have to go with it.  What's she looking at?  She's playing with a couple of her brother's action figures.  What ever it takes is what I say!

It was so good to see Karsyn again. I love watching my babies grow.

Lily and Luke | Middle Tennessee Child Photographer

Luke and Lily. They always make me smile. I was so glad when their mom called me about scheduling a spring mini session.

Miss Lily is such a sweetheart.  She has such a gentle spirit.  Just a sweet, sweet girl.

Luke is one of those little ones that I could just eat up. So stinkin' cute.  He was so funny with the baby chicks.

Lily has a nuturing touch. She's so patient with Luke and very mothering. She reminds me of my Molly.  I loved watching them together.

Here is their sweet slideshow.

I can't wait until next time I get to photograph them.  Next time they will have a new playmate. :-)

Harper is 2 | Fayetteville Tennessee Child Photographer

This little girl will forever hold a special place in my heart.  In case you don't remember, I was there when she came into the world.

I will never forget that day.  Now here she is 2 years later. Just as cute as ever.

I have to thank my assistant for this shoot.  Mr. Stewart.  Harper thought he was very funny!

Here is Miss Harper's video in case you can't get enough of her sweetness.

Happy birthday, Harper! Love you!

Lorin & Grant - Spring Minis | Fayetteville Tennessee Child Photographer

Even though we had a mild, mild winter, I was so glad when there were leaves on the trees again.  Even giddy you might say.  I pushed back my Easter/Spring Mini sessions a week just to make sure that everything would be green.  It was like the countryside came back to life in that week.  I could not have asked for a more perfect day.  I've been busy editing, and I've finally found time to share some images from that day. I need to try to share a lot this week, because the weekend is full of new sessions. Love this time of year!

Lorin and Grant. Two special kiddos to me.  So glad to get to do their portraits again.  I know their mom is very happy with them.  So that makes me happy.  Here are a few of my favorites from their session.

And here is their video if you would like to see more. :-)

Stay tuned.  I have many more to share!

I have made a point of not using the same location two years in a rows for those lucky ones who get to go to the prom more than one year in a row. Anna Urban Mini-Sessions | Fayetteville Tennessee Teen Photographer

Anna recently turned 16 and her mom thought she needed some photos to mark the milestone.  I couldn't agree more! I wish more moms celebrated their old children's years like they do when their kiddos were small.  There is no reason to wait until their senior year.  Every year is special!

Now back to Anna's shoot.  She chose the cutest dress, and I just loved her shoes.  The skirt of her dress was just right for a little motion when the breeze caught it.  I think this first one if my favorite.

I also like this one.

And a close-up.

That's it for the urban minis.  I've been busy in the studio lately, so next up I will share some of those sessions. I'm having lots of fun! Have a great weekend!

Rachel, Caleb & Kate - Urban Mini Sessions | Fayetteville Tennessee Child Photographer

These 3 are no strangers!  You probably remember seeing them on here a time or two before.  We got together once again during Spring Break.  I tried out a different location for their shoot.  I like it! Here are a few of my favorites from their session.

Miss Kate.

Caleb.

Rachel.

I just love this one of the girls.

And my favorite of all three kiddos.

I have one more urban mini to share - stay tuned!

Kelsey | Fayetteville Tennessee Teen Photographer

During Spring Break I had a fun day of urban mini-sessions.  I was so excited when Kelsey's mom scheduled an appointment for Kelsey.  I've gotten to know Kelsey and her mom over the past couple summers.  Kelsey's mom is one of board members of our swim team, and Kelsey is a swimming star. She is a freshman this year and recently competed in Knoxville.  What a way to represent our somewhat new high school swim team.  I just love to watch her compete!

Here are a few of my favorites from Kelsey's session.

And here is Kelsey's slideshow.

I'm loving spring.  Even though we had a mild winter and I did more outdoor shooting that normal, it is nice to be able to get out without a coat and shoot. More urban mini sessions to come!

Evelyn Gray at 3 months | Fayetteville Tennessee Baby Photographer

I just realized that I never shared the rest of Evelyn Gray's 3 month session.  This was just the best morning.  Getting to spend the morning with her and her mommy.

This is one of my favorites.  I have many.

This is also a favorite. Like I said, I have many.

It's obvious that Sandy adores Miss Evelyn Gray.

After spending some time relaxing in the nursery, we got dressed up for a few shots.  I couldn't believe how strong she was!

And then we got comfy again. She was such a nosy rosy in this one.  I was trying to get a shot of the top of her sweet head, but she just had to know what I was doing!

Peekaboo!

And a storyboard of some of my favorite Mommy images.

And if you would like to see more images.  Here is her slideshow.

I am already looking forward to her 6 month session!

My girl | Southern Tennessee Child Tween Photographer

I've been meaning to have a real shoot with Elizabeth since she turned 10 last summer.  Sure, I've taken lots of photos of her since then... Christmas...Valentine's Day...beach, but I had not taken the time to do a shoot of just her at age 10.  I was wanting to try out my new gray backdrop and we didn't have anything going Saturday (so nice). So we grabbed a few outfits and went to the studio.

It's moments like this that I realize just how grown up she is getting. Sigh.

New Beginnings and More Options | Fayetteville, Tennessee child studio photographer

So far 2012 has been exciting for me.  I've felt more excited about work than I have in a while.  I sat down in December of 2011 and did some planning and decision making.  I've been doing this just long enough now to have discovered exactly what I enjoy doing the most, and what I would like to do more of. That was the reason I decided to do more styled mini-sessions this year.  I love the creating part of putting together a fun set. I still have lots of those planned in the coming months.  Another thing I knew I wanted to do was to add the option of studio sessions for my clients.

What?! I know!  That goes against my motto!  I do love, love, love on-location shooting.  That is still my favorite.  However, when it comes to the little ones I photograph, I have been limited in the winter months.  There is a type of studio work I am drawn to.  Photographers who work I just adore.  Their work is different, but it has one thing in common.  It is art. Just like in my location sessions, for studio work I love color and texture. I decided that it was something that I wanted to offer to my clients.  Something that isn't really offered in our small town.

Earlier this year I purchased my first studio lighting thanks to some help from my photographer and scrapbooking friends Robin and Gina. And now I am happy to announce that I no longer have just an office but a studio!  My ever-willing model helped me try out one of my new backdrops earlier this week. We literally did this in the 30 minutes we had between picking her up from school and picking her sister up from tennis practice.  How I wish I was as photogenic as my daughter!
