I was glad to be able to offer Easter sessions again this year. I wasn't able to fit them into my schedule last year, and I really missed doing them. With Easter falling a little early on the calendar this year, I thought it would be wise to have them in the studio rather than outdoors as I have done in the past. With a high in the 40's last Saturday, I was glad I made that decision!

Josie was the first little one of the day. It's so neat to be able to watch these little ones grow up. I shot Josie's parent's wedding, and have been blessed to photograph Josie several times since her newborn sessions. She's growing up and is full of personality. She loved the baby chicks.

When I do themed mini-sessions, I always like to take a few non-themed shots. That way moms and dads can display them all year long.

I hope the Easter Bunny is good to Josie. I think he will be. :-) Happy Easter!

It might be chilly outside, but Easter is just around the corner! I am excited to be able to offer Easter sessions this year! These will be in-studio, so there will be no worries about the weather. I do plan to have baby chicks. I think they should be available by then.

Studio Christmas Sessions | Tennessee Child Photographer

We have worked so hard on this year's Santa set, that we decided to offer some last-minute studio Christmas sessions. Since the kiddos are out of school this week for Thanksgiving break, we thought this would be the perfect time. 

This will be the last day that I will be shooting for 2013. The next few weeks will be busy with editing, designing cards, and processing orders, so it doesn't leave me time to do any sessions. So this is it for holiday portraits this year.

Sessions are 20 minutes and will take place in the studio.

Lyla Beth is one | Middle Tennessee Baby Photographer

I love first birthday shoots! They are always so much fun! This one was no different. Lyla Beth came to see me in the studio for her first birthday.  Such a sweetie.  Her mom sent me photos of all her outfits prior to her session.  I knew we had to have some balloons when I saw her outfit. Get ready to smile!

My Beautiful Dancer | Tennessee Child Dance Photographer

My sweet girl returned to dance this year after a 3-year break. She has worked so hard this year, and I could not be more proud of her.  Her recital is this weekend, so one day after school last week we had a little shoot of her in her costumes. I cannot wait to see her perform this weekend. My beautiful dancer.​

Her tap routine is to Bell Hop Boogie, and I absolutely love this costume.  With the vintage feel of the costume, I wanted to use a vintage backdrop. She will be using the larger suitcase in her routine. Love.​

Her ballet is to True Colors.  They are artists and will have colorful streamers. We did a few in the studio and then did a few more at a couple favorite locations.  I need to add that the locations were all Molly's choosing. ​

Josie, Josie, Josie.  This is her 3rd time in the studio. ​Each session just seems to get better.  When her mommy and I talked about her 9-month shoot, she said she was bringing jewelry and wanted to do something like dress up.  I had just ordered this new backdrop that I am in love with, and it was perfect for this little vintage setup.

Hudson 3-weeks New | Middle Tennessee Newborn Baby Photographer

Hudson's mom brought him to see me at 3-weeks.  I had eagerly been awaiting his arrival.  I've photographed his big sister several times before, and I couldn't wait to meet Hudson. ​

Hudson's nursery is done in sock monkeys so his mom brought along some props  plus a blanket made by his great-grandmother. I love when moms do that. It's the little things like that make the images so much more meaningful.

Mom also brought in big sister's ball and glove. Love this.  Looks like he's dreaming of future games. :-)​

Tennis practice has started for us, and I've been seeing boys at the baseball field.  It may be hard to believe, but spring is almost here!  That means time for spring sports.  ​So let's make this a season to remember with some really cool images! Baseball, softball, tennis, soccer...whatever your sport or sports for that matter!  

Athletes should wear their team uniform and should bring any gear they wish (bats, balls, gloves, etc.)

My Girl | Fayetteville Tennessee Tween Photographer

My girl...talkin' 'bout my girl.  That song by The Temptations is stuck in my head as I type this. ​

My girl is growing up.  It's almost too much for a mom sometimes. I'm so used to seeing her in a ponytail and khakis almost every day. She's in her first year of middle school.  A lot of the girls in her class are wearing makeup now, but that's something she's not interested in at all at this point. ​So when she was elected homecoming attendant for her class, and I saw her all dressed up, wearing makeup with her hair styled it hit me just how grown up she is becoming. 

It did my heart good that she wanted to wear one of my old dresses.  She was stunning in it. We did a little mini-session in the studio. She's mine, and I have to say she is beautiful. My girl.​

Reese at 5 Months | Fayetteville Tennessee Baby Photographer

Baby boys. I love them.  I especially love them when they remind of my Stewart as much as Reese does.  That long, skinny body and those beautiful eyes.  It was love at first sight for me.  He was one of the most content babies I've ever photographed. 5 months isn't one of the most common ages I have in the studio, but I'm so glad his mom brought him in at this age.  It's one of the sweetest stages and often gets overlooked.  Here are some of my favorites from our playtime together.

Sweetie Pie Bartley | Fayetteville Tennessee Baby Photographer

It's the week to celebrate love so it's only appropriate to share another Valentine Mini-session.  Really, we should celebrate love every week of the year, and I think Bartley's parents will love these all year long.  Bartley is now 10 months old.  I can't believe how much he as grown just since his visit with Santa in the studio a couple months ago. I just love his curls. Babies change so much in that first year of life, and I love a mommy who sees how important it is to capture each of those stages.  Bartley is now standing on this own and since I saw him I bet he has taken a step or two or 20!

I couldn't resist sharing this very last one. Proof that even the best subjects have moments. :-)

Sweetheart Cori | Fayetteville Tennessee Child Photographer

Earlier this week I had Valentine Mini-sessions.  Cori's mom took advantage of the opportunity to have an 18-month session of her sweetheart. I will admit that this one started out a little rocky.  However, with the aid of my very helpful 10-year-old assistant Miss Molly and a bag full of m&m's we ended up with several precious images. I love this sweet girl and am so blessed to get to capture her at each sweet stage.

Valentine Mini-sessions this Monday, February 4th!!

For the first time ever I am including images on CD in a package! You can expect 5-10 images in your online gallery. Choose your 5 favorite for you CD. These are high resolution files and will come with a print release. You may add additional images to you CD for $20 each. Also included in the package are 2 5x7 prints.

I'm not going over the top with the Valentine theme because I want these to be images you enjoy all year long. The setup will be as pictured in the sample images, but I do plan to add a fabric banner in Valentine colors. I would suggest reds, blacks or pinks for these sessions. They will be appropriate for both boys and girls.

Call or email me to schedule your appointment. They will be scheduled every 20 minutes beginning and 1:00 with the last session at 5:00.

A Visit with Santa | Fayetteville Tennessee Child Photographer

With wee ones you never know what reaction you are going to get when they see Santa.  When they like the Man in the Red Suit it's great.  When they love him, you get images like these.

I have lots and lots of Santa sessions to share.  These first ones were shot at the end of October, but I wanted to save them until December to share. These three have been seen frequently on my website.  Rachel, Caleb and Kate.  Love these kiddos.  So glad to have them visit Santa with me this year.

Santa Mini-Sessions 2012 - Bartley | Fayetteville Tennessee Baby Photographer

Santa took two days out of his busy schedule this year to visit with us in the studio.  Some little ones like Bartley were meeting Santa for the very first time.  They were immediately friends. I can tell this is the beginning of a long friendship. 

I bet it's going to be fun at Bartley's house on Christmas morning!

It is so nice have your work recognized by your peers.  I was delighted to have my work featured two weeks in a row on Confessions of a Prop Junkie.

Last week's Be Inspired Theme was sleds and this image from Santa sessions last year was chosen out of the many entries.

This week's Be Inspired Theme is Santa,  It had to be a "real" Santa.  I may have had an unfair advantage since I'm friends with THE real Santa.

I had a big smile on my face when I visited their website yesterday and saw these sweet faces. I'm such a lucky girl to get to experience these magical moments with the little ones.  Now if Santa would just let me borrow a couple of his elves to help me get all my work done...

Josie at 3 months | Middle Tennessee Baby Photographer

Miss Josie is the baby girl of another of my couples from last year.  Her mommy and daddy are the second of my wedding couples from last year to now be parents.  How blessed I am to get to share in another important ​milestone in their lives together!  I couldn't wait to meet Miss Josie.  I had seen photos of her on her mommy's Facebook page and I was probably more excited that they were to finally get her in the studio.  We got to spend the afternoon catching up and had lots of laughs during her shoot.   Here are a few of my favorites. 

This next one is special because she is lying on her daddy's baby blanket.  Notice the J for Josie. :-)​
