Susan Class of 2014 | Tennessee Senior Photographer

School hasn't been out a week, and I'm already in full Senior 2014 mode.  Love it!  I have several Seniors scheduled for the coming weeks.  I kicked off the Senior shooting season with one of my favorite young ladies.  Susan.

Susan is what all parents of baby girls hope their daughters will grow up to be.  She plans a career in nursing and will be leaving soon for Governor's School. She is very involved in FFA, so where else than the family farm would we do her Senior portraits?  A natural beauty through and through.

LCHS Prom 2013 | Middle Tennessee Senior Photographer

Prom 2013.  What a day.  It rained almost all. day. long. We stayed in touch all day.  There was a break in the weather, so we rushed to a new location since the planned location was out of the question. Some things are just meant to be, and we couldn't have asked for better conditions. Here are some favorites from Nick and Katie's session.

My Girl | Fayetteville Tennessee Tween Photographer

My girl...talkin' 'bout my girl.  That song by The Temptations is stuck in my head as I type this.

My girl is growing up.  It's almost too much for a mom sometimes. I'm so used to seeing her in a ponytail and khakis almost every day. She's in her first year of middle school.  A lot of the girls in her class are wearing makeup now, but that's something she's not interested in at all at this point. So when she was elected homecoming attendant for her class, and I saw her all dressed up, wearing makeup with her hair styled it hit me just how grown up she is becoming.

It did my heart good that she wanted to wear one of my old dresses.  She was stunning in it. We did a little mini-session in the studio. She's mine, and I have to say she is beautiful. My girl.

Prom 2012 - Lilia & Zack | Middle Tennessee Senior Photographer

Last but not least is Lilia and Zack. Lilia was stunning in her golden dress, and I have to say that Zack's tux may have been my favorite of the night. I'm not usually one for a white tuxedo, but he had this whole John Travolta/Bee Gees thing going.  In a good way! My assistant, Anna Catherine, and I loved it!

If you want Zack's look visit Images on the square in Fayetteville.  Flowers are from The Flower House.

This is the last of prom for this year.  I hope all my couples had as much fun as I did and had a night they will always remember.  Thanks again to everyone who chose me as their prom photographer this year.  I am already looking forward to next year!

Prom 2012 - Ryleigh & Coty | Middle Tennessee Senior Photographer

Prom! I am not joking when I say that as a photographer these are my favorite mini-sessions of the year. I just love seeing the girls and guys dressed to the nines and so excited about the night.  Everyone is all smiles.  I LOVE it!

This year I chose the courtyard of the Lincoln County Museum as the location for mini-sessions.  I watched the weather all day, and was concerned about an hour before the first session was scheduled.  the sky was very dark, but the weather held out.  It ended up being just perfect.

First up were Ryleigh and Coty.

Coty looked smashing.

And Ryleigh?  Well the words Greek Goddess come to mind.

Both Ryleigh's dress and Coty's tuxedo are from Images Dance and Formal Wear.

Over the next week I will be sharing images from each of my sessions so check back soon!

LCHS Prom 2012 Schedule | Fayetteville Tennessee Senior Photographer

It's time for one of my favorite days of the year as a photographer.  Prom! This makes my third year in a row to offer Prom mini-sessions.  I love offering a little something different for those wanting an option other than the typical prom photos.

I have made a point of not using the same location two years in a rows for those lucky ones who get to go to the prom more than one year in a row. This year's sessions will be in the courtyard of the Fayetteville/Lincoln County Museum.  Convenient location for our seniors to stop by on their way to prom.

Packages start at $45.00 (when you schedule you session I will email you a complete list of packages available).  Minimum order of $45.00 (plus tax) must be paid at the time of your session.  Additional prints and CD of digital negatives with printing release will be available for purchase.

Here are a few more from last year's sessions. Note that these are from last year's location.  This year's is different just beautiful just the same.

Anna Urban Mini-Sessions | Fayetteville Tennessee Teen Photographer

Anna recently turned 16 and her mom thought she needed some photos to mark the milestone.  I couldn't agree more! I wish more moms celebrated their old children's years like they do when their kiddos were small.  There is no reason to wait until their senior year.  Every year is special!

Now back to Anna's shoot.  She chose the cutest dress, and I just loved her shoes.  The skirt of her dress was just right for a little motion when the breeze caught it.  I think this first one if my favorite.

I also like this one.

And a close-up.

That's it for the urban minis.  I've been busy in the studio lately, so next up I will share some of those sessions. I'm having lots of fun! Have a great weekend!

Kelsey | Fayetteville Tennessee Teen Photographer

During Spring Break I had a fun day of urban mini-sessions.  I was so excited when Kelsey's mom scheduled an appointment for Kelsey.  I've gotten to know Kelsey and her mom over the past couple summers.  Kelsey's mom is one of board members of our swim team, and Kelsey is a swimming star. She is a freshman this year and recently competed in Knoxville.  What a way to represent our somewhat new high school swim team.  I just love to watch her compete!

Here are a few of my favorites from Kelsey's session.

And here is Kelsey's slideshow.

I'm loving spring.  Even though we had a mild winter and I did more outdoor shooting that normal, it is nice to be able to get out without a coat and shoot. More urban mini sessions to come!

Triple Threat | Southern Tennessee Child Tween Photographer

I took a little time off this summer.  My kids had swim team four nights a week, and I just felt we needed a little more family time.  Swim team ended this past weekend, so I guess that means it is time to get back into the game.  The photography game.  This morning was a great kickoff.

I met three of my favorites clients for a summer shoot.  We've done a lot of different settings, and this time I wanted to mix it up.  These are three awesome athletes, and I told their mom to bring along their sports stuff. Let me just tell you, those few props made this a shoot the kids enjoyed rather than one they dreaded.

We started out with some casual shots.

Ben will be a sophomore this year and will be playing center for the high school football team.  Go Falcons!

Holt is such an awesome athlete.  I've seen him hit many 3-pointers.  I've never seen him play football, but I am sure he is going to be great at it, too!

Miss Amelia Kate. This is an early favorite of her. She is a little lady, but she is still the toughest bow-wearing soccer player you have ever seen! She and my Molly played together last year, and her dad and Molly's dad coached their team.  This year Amelia Kate has decided to play club soccer, and we are going to miss her!

It was hot.  So very hot, and I don't think I would have been any hotter if we had been at football or soccer practice.  But they didn't seem to mind.  I think they knew it was going to be worth it, and I could tell they liked the ones we did in their uniforms.  They called this one their Nike ad pose.

They look pretty intimidating to me!  Thanks for a great time this morning, guys.  Hope you like the sneak peek.  There are a whole lot more cool ones where these came from!

Hannah Post Prom | Southern Tennessee Senior Photographer

My beautiful Hannah.  I met Hannah through our community theatre.  We were both in a production of Sleeping Beauty last fall, and I quickly fell in love with her.  Since then we have become dear friends, and she has even assisted me at a wedding.  I love this young lady dearly.  It was no surprise to me when she was voted Prom Queen by her classmates.  We met one afternoon after school for a post prom session. I will go ahead and warn you that this is going to be a long post.  So many beautiful images of Hannah.

Of course we had to start off with some wearing the crown.

The nice thing about a post prom session is that we didn't have to worry about messing up the dress.

Hannah is a truly beauitful person.  She's not just a pretty face.  She is good.  She loves God.  She loves her family.  She loves others.

She has such a kind and gentle spirit.  She is the young woman all mothers pray their daughters grow up to be.

My Molly loves her. I love her.

This fall she will be leaving for college.  She wants to become a nurse.  I was not surprised at all when she told me that was what she wanted to do.  Although, I think she would be a wonderful photographer, I can see her caring for others on a daily basis.

I am so glad we took the time to have this shoot.

Hannah, I don't think it is any suprise by now that I love you. You amaze me.  I pray that my daughters will grow to be beautiful young women like you. I feel that I have been so blessed to get to know you.  I am so proud of you.  You are beautiful through and through!

Prom 2011 Mini-sessions | Southern Tennessee Senior Photographer

I should have shared these weeks ago.  Thanks to all my couples who came out for prom mini-sessions.  I knew the exact type  setting I wanted for this year's sessions, and it came together just as I had envisioned it.

My first couple was Coral and Travis.

Followed by friends Hannah and Will (you will see more of Hannah in a later post).

Followed by another Hanna and Will.  What are the chances?!

Alex and Jake.  Such a cute couple!I had trouble choosing just one of theirs to share!

Kaytlynn and Tristan.  Love, love, love Kaytlynn's dress!

And last but not least, Sam and Timmy.  You might remember them from last year.

Couples, just a reminder, if you haven't already ordered your prints you need to do so soon.  Thanks so much for coming out.  I had the best time.  I hope you did, too!

Congratulations Class of 2011 | Southern Tennessee Senior Photographer

Kyle Senior 2011 - Southern Tennessee Senior Photographer

When I talked to Kyle's mom about his Senior session, she said he wanted bricks and concrete.  She told me Kyle was really laid back and relaxed.  She was right.  Kyle was a photographer's dream.  So easy going. Relaxed.  Natural.  I tell my clients before we start that the more relaxed they are the better their photos will be.  Just be yourself.  Kyle had no problem doing that.

He brought along his wake board.  His family spends a lot of time at the lake in the summer.  Actually, he and his mom had driven from the lake that afternoon just for his shoot.

I knew exactly where I wanted to start Kyle's session. This is a favorite spot of mine.

I loved the orange board.  It really popped against the neutral colors.

This one may be my favorite of the day. As is often the case, it is the unexpected ones I like the most.

Caught in the act.  Could there be a more natural shot of a teen?

Kyle's uncle met us with his grandfather's old Chevy.  Loved it!  They said it needed painting.  I said it was perfect!

The truck was awesome, but we also had to get a few of Kyle with his Mustang.

Kyle, thanks for a great afternoon.  A lot of times the guys are ready to be done before we even get started, but you were a great sport!  Good luck in your Senior year!

Oh, and I just had to share a behind-the-scenes shot.  What do you do when you're dragged to your older cousin's senior portrait session? You find a nice spot and play your DS.
